[James B] Stop lookin and start DOING TJ!
[James B] (That was another of my problems I had to overcome)
[seowulf_cluster] lol, Deano, the funny thing is that I'm in this room right
now because I opened the mail from JL
about this chat....
[seowulf_cluster] ... because I wanted to un-subscribe
[seowulf_cluster] i decided he was showing up too much in my inbox
[walter schick] Gotta go pick up my three year old thanks for all your help.
if you want to help me a little from and
e-mail for further correspondence at w-schick@satx.rr.com...thanks all &
bless you all.
[James B] hahahah...me too seo!...but it turned out cool didnt it?
[James B] Peace Walt...Be cool!
[seowulf_cluster] hey walter, check out some seo blogs
[seowulf_cluster] subscribe to a couple with rss
[seowulf_cluster] james, really?
[James B] Good Advice seo!
[esh] Have u heard of the recent co-reg buzz
[dave small] how expensive was that product!!!!
[esh] and their million dollar rolodex ???
[seowulf_cluster] walter - re: domain names
[Len] Yes, it's very expensive
[TJ Short] no whats it about
[dave small] when they finally came out with the price
[James B] wolf: How many people are 'watching this'...lots and lots...and
maybe just maybe...help them a little
bit....which helps us all!
[esh] it's about $1500
[seowulf_cluster] http://www.logon.ie/resources/choosing-a-domain.php
[James B] Co-reg.....fast way to lose butt!
[dave small] big time
[seowulf_cluster] it's irish-slanted but relevant to most areas
[James B] Tried 2 years ago...lost my butt!
[Robert] That coreg product was 1997
[esh] and im still trying to get a deal for $1400 as buck promised.
[Len] Whys that James?
[Deano] seo - I know, it can get a bit much when you are on a
few lists. The worst one for me, so far, was the
long winded sign up for "Give PPC The Finger" followed by the barrage of
follow-ups. unsubscribe...unsubscribe....
[James B] I mean...literally, my wife was in tears...lost 5 figures in one
day!
[dave small] jeeezuz
[seowulf_cluster] co-reg... what is this?
[James B] I was unable to convert the traffic..and the leads were crap!
[dave small] and 5 fingers too presumably
[Len] Gee that's awful James
[esh] hoping to close a deal by tommorrow for $1500
[seowulf_cluster] deano: yeah it sucks. I sub'd to a load of SE's using
WebCEO - got a tonne of spam from them now
[esh] co-reg - Co-registration
[esh] co-reg - Co-registration
[seowulf_cluster] but i always, alway use a site-specific email
[Deano] Amazes me the people starting out buying high ticket products ( like
Adsense Wealth Empire and Pipeline
Profits ). James - five figures in one day? It's worse than the tech bubble
crash in stocks. Glad to hear you
recovered..
[James B] good luck w/co-reg...I really hope for ya'll sake that they reall
got it nailed down to a science.
[seowulf_cluster] so i can turn em off
[seowulf_cluster] err, telling me it's co-registration don't help... is it a
company, a business type, what?
[James B] me too seo! Dang we got alot in common.
[dave small] You guys must be at a completely different level to me, I'm
dabbling in the adwords biz, dipping my toes
in the affiliate promotion pool and just about making enough money to go
swimming in the public baths once a week, it
all seems to pointless but I keep telling my Wife that one day we'll make
something back from my efforts
[Len] Sounds like a good thing to stay away from
[esh] it's a way of getting leads, from the effort those authority sites
puts to get a subcription.
[bshearer] I forgot this window was open...
[bshearer] What do you all think of Jon's site articlebuilder.net and
keywordexplosion.com ?
[dave small] to be honest I havent looked at much of jons stuff - only
adsense tracker, which was great for me, well
worth the investment
[Deano] Dave - It's hard and frustrating in the beginning but stick with it
and don't let anybody convince you that
you are wasting your time.
[esh] articlebuilder - it was a cool idea, a mature form of
set-it-and-forget types.
[dave small] Cheers Deano, thats what I keep telling myself
[TJ Short] me to dave i want to chuck it in wife says no you dont you paid
good money for all these programs work it
out
[James B] dave....keep at it.....don't be afraid to throw in the
towel...dont beat a bad idea to death...MOVE ON if
it dont work...try something else.
[James B] (I know it is hard to accept...but I had to do it).,... and so did
all the other 'gurus'.
[dave small] true, but as I had realised with one site, before my previous
hosting company killed it, was that
content AND length of time online can really help adsense income
[bshearer] I'm just joining back in ..are you guys talking about AdSense
revenue? the lack of it?
[esh] in my experience keeping atleast $2000 before you begin IM helps
[Deano] I agree with James here. Although you should never quit, if you are
doing something that is absolutely not
working, try doing it a different way. Don't say "this doesn't work".
Instead look at what you aren't doing right.
Model yourself on people succeeding.
[seowulf_cluster] dave small: don't worry about it. my main adsense site
makes $3 a day, and i'm delighted with it
[seowulf_cluster] it's all a matter of degrees
[James B] dave: yes and no...it all depends on the type of site.
[James B] Sorry seo...didnt get to window in time...very professional stuff!
[seowulf_cluster] ooh, i got a flood warning - typing too quick
[dave small] I decided to regroup and abolish previous Make site for Adsense
tactic and now its making more than when
I cared about the income
[TJ Short] me to dave
[esh] seowulf - i think if had invested to aggressive article marketing
you'd ve had a triple of it by now
[seowulf_cluster] cheers James, but design is my weak side - i'm a
left-brainer, I outsource the flashy bits
[seowulf_cluster] esh: maybe
[bshearer] so where are you guys in terms of what JC said today? a couple of
adsense sites or a bunch of them?
[seowulf_cluster] but it depends where you're targetting
[James B] seo: no way...you great man!
[esh] i have 40 of em
[bshearer] so is it justified for you?
[seowulf_cluster] that site is my baby, my learning site, my "get
enthusiastic" one, i write for a real small
audience
[TJ Short] only got 6 basic sites
[esh] and just a year old and doing great
[dave small] Recently, I chose one long tail keyword and optimized for it.
Got me nowhere. Then I wrote one article
and put it on searchwarp article directory, keyword was in the title, now I
rank number one for that keyword (article
only). Links of course back to my site. Thats the power of articles
[seowulf_cluster] if I retarget it in the future I could make a tonne off of
reviewing stuff and commision
[James B] You are definately goin places seo! If it aint now...it WILL be!
[Deano] Dave - That's the beauty of using authority sites and a great tip by
you there. Definitely stick at it mate.
[bshearer] I have a couple but my traffic is slowly getting started. The
frustrating part is that it is .03 a day here or .33 there. Nothing
consistent
[esh] Social bookmarking and Tag & pinging works real great for me for as
less as $30/month
[seowulf_cluster] james: i don't want to move certain directions... i can
make money off of it but i find that time- management is my greatest problem
[TJ Short] what or how does pinging work
[seowulf_cluster] i would not normally have spent this time in here with you
guys (no offense) but I'm too tired to work on sites atm
[James B] Great work Dave.....keep applying what you doing...remember
this....all keywords...and traffice for that matter...are NOT created
equal....sometimes you just find a bad market!
[dave small] true indeed
[James B] me too seo...I still get sidetracked...like here!
[seowulf_cluster] ok guys.. here's a long-tail that I make serious traffic
off that I'm not interested in - world of
warcraft searches
[seowulf_cluster] i played a druid tank to end game, loved it
[James B] listen up people!
[seowulf_cluster] but was wasting my life at it
[esh] pinging helps to announce your blog or any syndicated content to sites
that get much audience or does it broker
to sites that need em
[seowulf_cluster] so i quit the game
[seowulf_cluster] if i was gonna still play and write about it i'd be
getting 5 figure traffic unique per day
[TJ Short] O ic
[dave small] wow, nice
[esh] there's method, tag and ping, it works fine
[seowulf_cluster] but i can't go back - the game's heroine
[seowulf_cluster] errr, sp
[dave small] tag and ping only works for blogs though doesnt it?
[Deano] I just want to add something about Kontera as I'm off to watch
Desperate Housewives in a minute ( ).
Although Joel said if you follow his link you can get accepted in as a small
publisher, I also know other small
publishers that applied directly and got accepted. So if you are an adsense
junkie, it's something else to consider
monetising your site/s with.
[bshearer] world of warcraft...hmmmmm
[seowulf_cluster] yeah
[esh] i also create a buzz by using videos and also they did work well for
me
[dave small] cheers Deano, applied earlier, will find out tomorrow or so
[esh] Deano - blogs or any syndicated contents
[seowulf_cluster] if you know someone who plays, who's a decent writer, pay
em their monthly fee to write you 2
articles a week
[James B] Unless your site is crap...they will accept you...why wouldn't
they?
[bshearer] My son plays FlashFlashRevolution.com all the time and it has a
tone of adsense ads on it. Is this a good
target group?
[seowulf_cluster] bsh: i dont know the game. WoW has 8 million players, and
is very techical
[dave small] anyone had success with Zanox.co.uk ?
[Deano] James - They claimed to have a 500,000 page views per month
acceptance criteria re: Kontera
[seowulf_cluster] I get many hits a day looking for "wow druid tank
equipment"
[James B] SEO and All: Not only the game market....but you can use this tip
and apply it in alot of different areas!.
[seowulf_cluster] might be slightly different but that's the essense of it
[seowulf_cluster] true james
[Deano] People lose their lives and become obsessed playing World Of
Warcraft. It's like a religion and they are
fanatical about it.
[James B] It is this type of original thinking that will get the ball
rolling for you...not a 'guru'
[esh] text link ads works well for me then kontera
[bshearer] interesting and here I thought ppl wanted other kinds of
information
[James B] I've applied...was accepted...and only had 101,000 pV a month!
[seowulf_cluster] I was not the worse of the addicts, I played 6 to 8 hours
a day for about 4 months and I considered
myself a “casual playerâ€ÂÂ
[dave small] text link ads works well for one site of mine but one site is
yet to sell a link on it and its PR4 and
Alexa 96,000 - which is not that bad
[Deano] Esh - Yes I gotta agree with you on text link ads.
[James B] Alexa 96,000....You should be doing much better than what u say
dave!
[seowulf_cluster] Write this:
http://amdsoft.com/2006/11/16/wow-feral-druid-tanking-gear/ and this:
http://amdsoft.com/2006/11/16/wow-baron-45-strategy/ and this:
http://amdsoft.com/2006/11/17/wow-how-to-do-a-dire-
maul-tribute-run/
[Deano] SEO - 6-8 hours a day = Casual gamer? Wow. I hope these people
haven't got girlfriends or wives.
[seowulf_cluster] do 5 of those a week and come talk to me about your
adsense earnings in 6 months time
[seowulf_cluster] Yeah Deano, I know
[James B] Oh man...let's not get into addiction here huh? I've had waaayy
too many of those!
[dave small] The crazy thing about text link ads is that for one of my
sites, and Irish Pub website, I have sold 3
out of 4 ads available, one for hotels in Barcelona and one for Panasonic
DVD players - really good placement that
one /sarcasm
[seowulf_cluster] that's 6-8 hours a day *average* every day for 4 months -
this is why I will NOT start playing
again, even for money
[Deano] All people frequenting Irish pubs would like to go on holiday in
Barcelona and own a dvd player made by
Panasonic. I think you are just being cynical Dave
[seowulf_cluster] wow dave, that's strange
[esh] for text links, try changing the background of the table (ie. html
table), iuse a script that changes the
background when visitors are any my ads and it's 100% within the TOS and i
only right now use with the us ips
[James B] Jesus seowulf..i can only hope people can recognize that tip about
what to do with it! Good Stuff btw.
[dave small] hahaha Deano
[seowulf_cluster] yeah james
[seowulf_cluster] but consider the target audience
[James B]
[seowulf_cluster] you're talking 9 player classes
[seowulf_cluster] 8 million players
[esh] for adsense i don't even risk by giving it a bull try =)
[seowulf_cluster] that's ~1M druids out there potentially looking for
advice, how about hitting all 9 classes with
info
[seowulf_cluster] James, you come back to me in 6 months with 10%
[James B]
[Deano] SEO - I have to say if I was a World Of Warcraft afficianado I would
definitely target this market. I
personally know one woman who thinks her boyfriend loves Warcraft more than
her. lol.
[TJ Short] what was the trick wulf I'll give you 33%
[James B] Tell ya what...If games were my market..I'd be there! (there's
gold in that url you showed for
everyone...in any market)
[seowulf_cluster] tj: trick is write lots of good content targetted at that
market
[seowulf_cluster] usual kind of "trick"
[TJ Short] oh ic
[James B] Apply what seo says to ANY market...and you will go far...seo is
giving you a heads up on driving some
serious gaming traffic your way..lots of ways to monetize by doing just
that.
[seowulf_cluster] great thing about wow is that they add new content
constantly
[seowulf_cluster] so you've loads to write about
[seowulf_cluster] one of you fuckers better make some cash outta this idea
[James B] pssst...my kid is doing sdomething like that as we chat!
[dave small] Worst thing that ever got released for me was commenthut -
anyone heard of that? It allows its users to
find your blogs and then they post comments and hence links back to their
websites. Pain in the ass
[esh] i don't put all my energy focusing just on one egg[Deano] Guys
unfortunately I gotta go. I've really enjoyed
this chat tonight and appreciate how open you all are with the info you have
shared. I hope to catch you all on here
next time Jonathan runs a chat session. Take care!
[dave small] bye Deano
[James B] esh...I disagree....focusing is what got me to where I'm at
today....later Deano
[esh] Dave - I got a refund within a week and they just good only on that
[James B] BE Cool
[esh] bye deano
[dave small] good software, dont get me wrong, just the cause of my blog
getting screwed
[dave small] I'm sure of it
[dave small] anyway, gotta go too, night all
[seowulf_cluster] ok guys take care
[James B] Everyone...gotta get back to my young ones (2yr and 4yr
old)..wife's running to store. Everyone...in the
immortal words of 'Bill and Ted' ...Be Excellent To Each Other!....Peace
out!
[seowulf_cluster] cheers JB
[seowulf_cluster] gimme a shout some time
[seowulf_cluster] sub my blogs
[seowulf_cluster] link me your own
[James B] will do seo! -c-ya
[esh] cya all and take care
[seltz] bye
[seowulf_cluster] haha, just found this site:
http://www.gold-secrets.com/warcraftcb.htm?hop=chri5123
[seowulf_cluster] One payment of $37.00 (US Dollars)
[seowulf_cluster] This guide is a PDF file that you can view instantly
[esh] i wish u good luck and hope to see you all next week bye
[seowulf_cluster] cya esh
[shiv singh] Can anyone help me? I have 'adstracker' installed on my sites
so i do get detailed reports on my clicks
etc. What i cant see is how much each click is worth in $ when i log into my
adsense account. What am i not doing?
Cheers, Shiv.
[TJ Short] I have tried and Jon even had a go to get my tracker working but
neither could so your lucky shiv you can
see anything
[TJ Short] for a year
[shiv singh] Sorry you couldn't get your script to work, TJ. Databases can
be a real pain!
[TJ Short] so it only works with the DB ???
